Administration Degree

Learn about earning a degree in Administration online!

When I was in college a few decades ago I considered a degree in Public Administration.  Unfortunately, I had little experience in the field and missed the big picture – where an administration degree might take me.  That’s one of the quirks about education and teaching youth, trying to prepare them for something they don’t even see yet.

If you have do not have a college degree yet, or have not contemplated what a degree might do for you, consider this.  Every field of action in the physical world requires management at some level.  This includes everyday needs like food production, manufacturing and sales, public and private involvement, governmental oversight and much more. Managers and administrators are required everywhere you look.

An administration degree can be business oriented or can focus on government or health issues.  Basically, it is a ‘how to’ degree for dealing with the glitches that come up in everyday society.  Whether it’s moving the machinery of an international corporation or seeing that tax data is entered correctly, the role of administrators is to keep the system rolling smoothly.  Thus, time spent gaining an administration degree would be time well spent.

The job market is getting more and more competitive. According to DeVry University, a degree in Business Administration “offers a unique opportunity to launch or further your career by earning a degree highly respected in the business world.”  For more information, go to www.devry.edu

Public and private schools alike are now offering administration degrees, and many can be started or done completely online.  Even small private schools can offer very specialized programs that fit the individual need.  For example, St Leo University offers administration degrees as a second degree with business, criminal justice or public administration as primary focus.  Quoting St Leo University “Sometimes to get ahead, you have to go back!” - www.saintleo.com - food for thought!
