School Supply List
Every college student knows that to even squeak by in class, they need certain supplies and materials. The list is long, but filled with necessity. A school supply list is just what the doctor ordered for slackers.
After registering for your college courses, you jump in your car and drive to the nearest Wal-Mart. You think that once you’re there everything you will need for school is going to voluntarily jump into your shopping cart. Well, unless you live in “Toontown” that isn’t going to happen. Before you even walk through that set of sliding doors, you need to have a game plan- a school supply list. For the off-campus student, the one that lives at home, there is a separate list for you than for those students who will be enjoying dorm life.
The off-campus student isn’t going to need a trash can, microwavable mac and cheese, hangers, laundry basket, shoe caddy, desk chair, sheets, pillows, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and the list goes on. The student living at home has all these things supplied for them. But for the on-campus dorm student, this list is just about right.
The on-campus student, is going to need all the things listed above. In some cases, on-campus students don’t come from the area around the school. They live in a different city, county, state, or even country. Although the on-campus and off-campus student has these particular differences in their school supply list, a lot of the things are going to be the same.
For instance: paper, pencils, ballpoint pens, folders, binders, notebooks, all the little things that go in a desk drawer, highlighters, sticky notes, staplers, and on and on and on. This is what a small part of the college student’s school supply list looks like. There are larger, more expensive things that can be added; computers, printers, laptops, calling cards, cell phones (sometimes cheaper in the long run than calling cards), and in some cases, even a car.
All this information can be hard to absorb, especially after the summer you’ve had. But if you are serious about making it in school and actually completing your homework, then you are going to need, at least, the basics of that school supply list. You can leave the car for later - make it a graduation present.
